PTSD, Dissociation, Anxiety & Deep Emotional Healing

Find Relief from Trauma—Without Staying Stuck in the Past

If you’ve experienced trauma, you might feel stuck in patterns that don’t make sense—anxiety that won’t turn off, emotional overwhelm, numbness, anger, or disconnection in relationships.

You’re not broken.

Your nervous system adapted to survive.

And with the right kind of therapy, you can heal.

At Healing Ground Counseling, we specialize in helping teens, young adults, and adults process and resolve trauma—not just cope with it.

Freedom and Relief

What is Trauma Therapy?

Trauma therapy is a specialized, evidence-based approach that helps your brain and body process unresolved experiences so they no longer control your life.

Instead of just talking about what happened, trauma therapy focuses on:

  • Calming your nervous system

  • Reprocessing painful memories safely

  • Reducing triggers and emotional reactivity

  • Restoring a sense of safety, control, and connection

Our approach integrates:

  • Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART)

  • Neurofeedback

  • Narrative Therapy

  • Trauma-informed, attachment-focused care

Trauma doesn’t always look like what people expect. You may benefit if you experience:

  • Anxiety, panic, or constant overthinking

  • Feeling emotionally numb or disconnected

  • Anger or irritability that feels hard to control

  • Intrusive thoughts, flashbacks, or nightmares

  • Difficulty trusting others or maintaining relationships

  • Dissociation or feeling “not fully present”

  • Shame, guilt, or feeling “not enough”

  • Feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or exhausted

Even if your trauma “wasn’t that bad,” your experience still matters.

You Don’t Have to Relive Your Trauma to Heal

One of the biggest fears people have about therapy is:
“Do I have to talk about everything?”

The answer: No.

We use approaches like ART and neurofeedback that allow healing to happen without forcing you to relive painful experiences in detail.

You stay in control the entire time.

  • Healing Ground Counseling is dedicated to providing healing through high quality therapy and research based practices, such as Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) and neurofeedback, to help individuals, couples, and families experience enduring healing and become the best version of themselves.

We specialize in providing healing and relief to those who have endured difficult traumas in their lives, as well as those who struggle with dissociative disorder, such as Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID). We are passionate about healing the community and world from trauma, one individual and one session at a time.

This practice tailor fits treatment to meet the individualized needs of each person who walks through the door, helping them to identify what works for them and provide them with applicable tools and resources to live a better life.

  • The main difference is the focus of treatment. With Trauma Therapy, the focus is on deeper circumstances that are affecting your current life, which are preventing you from living your best and most ideal way of life. At Healing Ground Counseling, we are dedicated to helping you gain or reclaim joy, peace, and happiness as we walk through the healing journey together in resolving past traumas that are holding you back. Most people prefer trauma therapy as it is more tailor fitted to their emotional difficulties and progress and healing is typically noticed pretty rapidly.

  • In therapy for teens, parents play a pivotal and supportive role in the teen’s journey. Therapy isn’t just about the individual teen; it’s about working together in a collaborative effort as a family to create a positive environment for growth and healing. This process sometimes involves needing to restructure some patterns of behavior within the home.

Parents are often involved in sessions, either by participating directly or through separate meetings with the therapist. This collaboration allows parents to gain insights into their teen’s experiences and learn strategies to support their emotional and behavioral development at home. If your teen’s therapist asks to schedule a meeting with you, no need to worry, you’re not in trouble! Your therapist is on your team and merely wants to help you and your family succeed in this journey.

The therapist may guide parents on how to reinforce progress, communicate effectively, and understand their teen’s needs more deeply. Throughout the process, parents and the therapist work as a team, ensuring that the therapy is beneficial, not just for the teen, but for the whole family.

  • Starting therapy can feel intimidating—but we make it simple.

In your first session, you will:

    • Share what’s been going on (at your pace)

    • Identify goals for therapy

    • Learn how trauma affects your brain and body

    • Begin building a plan for healing

No pressure. No judgment. Just a clear path forward.

  • Yes! We currently accept Select Health, United Healthcare, Optum, and BCBS. If your insurance isn’t listed, we can help you to use your out-of-network benefits for potential reimbursement from your insurance carrier.

"Therapy can be a sacred space where a person is understood, validated, and empowered to overcome life's challenges. Whether it's anxiety, depression, grief and loss, or trauma, it can all be worked through when provided the right tools and encouragement."

— Eddie Shin, LMFT
